Seat Ibiza estate concept

Here is the new near production from Seat. There are low-profile tyres on large wheels, the interior is very swish, there are hints of the Ibiza Cupra production car and SEAT’s now characteristic “arrow” styling has been moved on a stage further.

The 410 litres can be significantly extended when the rear seats are folded to leave a completely flat cargo space that stretches right to the back of the front seats.

On the outside, SEAT’s designers have applied typically striking concept treatments to the surfacing, head and tail lights and glasshouse. Perhaps most interesting of all is the interior, which has been structured by ‘light guide’ strips that run through the dashboard and the doors. These integrate the radio/iPhone interface screen and provide atmospheric lighting at the same time.

The light, airy tones of the cream coloured ‘Magnolia’ interior heighten the feeling of space inside this SEAT. The dashboard features the same colour, and a different texture is provided via the suede-clad soft pads. The instrument binnacle hood, door panels, pillars and ceiling are also finished in suede.

The newly-designed seats and integrated headrests are upholstered with a combination of leather and suede in the same colour as the dashboard, with blue stitching to match the body colour, but don’t expect much of the leather or suede to make it through to the production car.

The SEAT IBZ Concept is scheduled to morph into a production model for sale across Europe towards the middle of next year
